Team Shaw DO SOMETHING SPECIAL.
GORUCK
8 A.M. -June 11th @ The Fitness Annex.
20th Force Support Squadron's Shaw Fitness Center, Carolina Skies Club and Outdoor Recreation is hosting our second GORUCK event.
What is RUCKING?
Rucking is the activity of moving with weight on your back in a rucksack (aka backpack).
It's also social fitness which means you can actually talk to your friends when you ruck.
Teamwork, leadership, camaraderie, smiles, and a gut-check worthy of Special Operations training. But the beauty of the Challenge is that it's not about you, it's about the people by your side, the individuals that become your team. Ruckers have called it an introduction to themselves and a West Point graduate called it the best leadership training he ever had.
A Cadre from GORUCK will be at Shaw on June 11th to push each person through a 4-6 hour event that will span 7-10 miles. The Cadre's goal is to push the members past their mental and physical limits to show them things that they did not believe they were capable of doing. There are only 50 slots available for this challenge and the sign up fee is $25 dollars, this will pay for a t-shirt and a cook out for after the event. This event is not a race! It is meant to be finished as a team.
