Welcome to the Carolina Pines Inn! Our promise is "ensuring our guests have a clean, comfortable room to guarantee a good night's rest and a pleasant stay." We are committed to providing comfortable quarters and want to exceed your expectations. Please feel free to call upon any member of our staff should you have additional needs. Carolina Pines Inn provides over 65 transient visiting quarters and 39 lodging quarters for families. Each family unit can accommodate a family of four. These units have a kitchenette, dining, living areas, and a full bath with a separate bedroom. They're fully equipped with kitchen and eating utensils, small appliances, telephones, and two television sets. For our guests with pets we have 14 Pet Friendly Units available, there is an additional $10 per night fee. The front desk sells sundry items, to include; sodas, chips, snacks, and microwave meals. Free laundry facilities and a business center are available for our guests. The front desk is staffed 24 hours a day. Please feel free to contact us with any problems, suggestions or comments. DOD identification must be shown at Check In. Advance payment must be completed at check-in or secured with a credit card. Payment may be made at anytime day or night. A $25 fee is charged for any returned check. Refunds for advance payments or overpayments are made on the spot or mailed to you.

Checkout is at 11 a.m. Late checkouts are charged an additional fee. If you anticipate a delay in checking out, notify the front desk immediately. Allowance will be made if possible.  

New visitor’s quarters (VQs) and temporary lodging facilities (TLFs) include 6 business suites, 7 two bedroom TLFs and 11 VQs to our facilities. The new TLFs and business suites offer in-room laundry equipment for your convenience. With the addition of new quarters we also offer a fitness room on property.

Business Center

Our state of the art business center located in the main lobby area has several complimentary items for our guest. From coffee to Wi-Fi, we are improving our equipment and services to make your stay a great experience. Our business center is equipped with 2 computers and 1 printer for your convenience, as well as Wi-Fi for laptops. Wi-Fi is also available in our rooms. Carolina Pines Inn has the best complementary coffee assortment at Shaw! We offer a variety of regular and decaf coffee, tea and hot chocolate, suiting almost anyone’s taste.

As the world changes on a daily basis we are adapting our services to complement your needs. In the early part of January we implemented a new lodging software system that revolutionized the way we care for our guest. This new systems allows us to send you an email confirmation about your reservation and the option for you to visit our website  www.dodlodging.net  here you may use your DTS (Defense Travel System) application to make a reservation with us. Please try to make your reservations 24-48 hours prior to arrival. If you are unable to do so, please call 803-895-3803 and then choose option “0” to speak to one of our excellent customer service representatives to confirm that your reservation has made it into our system. It is always a pleasure to serve you and we look forward to your visit.

The Carolina Pines Inn served over 32K guests last year. Beginning in January and lasting through the end of the year we have an exciting opportunity for our guests. We have developed a program where we invite our guests to identify where they are coming from on a map located in the main lobby area!. Carolina Pines Inn has the privilege of offering our guests excellent customer service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. People from across the nation and the world visit Shaw.  Some even get to call this base their new home. It is our intent to show just how diverse our guest population is and how our Airmen, retirees, and civilian counterparts impact the Air Force’s global mission on a daily basis.

Shaw AFB offers a wide range of services for visitors and residents. As a guest at the Carolina Pines Inn, you are within walking distance (1 block) of The Carolina Skies Club and Conference Center, which offers a lunch buffet, standard menu, and special evening programs. Across the street from Carolina Skies is the Woodland Pool (which is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day) and tennis courts for your enjoyment.

Only a few blocks away (2-3) you will find the Fitness Center, McElveen ICME Library ,  The Quiet Cup  (serving Starbucks Coffee! located inside the McElveen Library), Rickenbackers (located inside the MPF, Bldg 1118), The EXCHANGE Mall & Gas Station and the CMSgt Emerson E. Williams Dining Facility.

Shaw Lanes Bowling Center offers free shoe rental to Carolina Pines guests! Just show your key card to any associalte at the bowling counter for you discount!
