Wateree Recreation Area is located in the heart of South
Carolina’s Olde English District, where the three large
river systems, Pee-Dee, Catawba-Wateree and Broad,
that once brought in settlers, now lure campers, picnickers
and fishermen alike! This 14,000-acre hydroelectric impoundment has a
190-mile shoreline. Situated on a peninsula of 25
pristine wooded acres, Wateree Recreation Area is
designed for the recreational enjoyment of military

To make reservations for cabins, pavilions, RV sites or Recreation Hall call our toll-free number 1-877-928-8373 or make reservations online (online reservations are not final until confirmed by Wateree Recreational Area).
Reservations for cabins may be made up to 90 calendar days in advance by active-duty military personnel. Retirees and all other authorized users may make reservations up to 60 calendar days in advance. Group functions requesting 6 or more cabins may make their reservations up to one year in advance, full payment is expected upon reservation.Reservations are non-transferable. Cancellations are subject to a $15 processing fee. Payment is required at the time of the reservation. All other facilities, equipment and tent sites are on a first come, first serve basis.

- All weekends require a 2-night minimum stay (Fridays/Saturdays/Sunday)
- Quiet hours are from 11 p.m.-7 a.m.
- Personnel are held responsible for damages
- Disorderly conduct and/or loud music resulting in an annoyance are prohibited
- NO LIFEGUARDS are on duty at the beach
- Fireworks, explosives and guns are prohibited
- Please limit all fires to grills and fire rings
- Use and consumption of keg beer must be approved through the manager
- Underage drinking is NOT tolerated under any circumstances
- All motorcyclists, bicyclists, and skateboarders must wear helmets
- Pets MUST be on a leash at all times
- Pets are NOT permitted on the beach
- Pet owners are expected to clean up all pet droppings

Wateree Recreation Area has 14 cabins equipped with central heat and air conditioning, TV, linens, towels, dishes, pots, pans, coffee makers and microwave ovens. Pets are permitted in cabins 4-8 for an additional $10 fee per pet, per night (2 dogs or cats only). Check our pet policy for details.

RV sites #1-#8 are located in the lower section of the park, adjacent to the outdoor movie/activity area, Rec Bldg. and bath house, and within easy walking distance of the beach and playground. RV sites #9-#22 are located in the upper rear area of the park and feature wonderful water views. Each site features a concrete parking pad, picnic table and grill. All sites have 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service, sewer and water hook-ups. For your convenience, a free dump station is also located in the park.

We have 3 on-site camper trailers available to rent! Choose from a 30-foot Trailer Cruiser, a 29-foot Z291 Zeppelin II or a 28-foot Z281 Zeppelin II. Campers can sleep up to 7 people and come complete with bedding, dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, and coffee pot.

Kayaks - $10 per day
Pets are NOT permitted on boats.
Wateree Recreation Area is the perfect location for leadership off-sites, training conferences, team building programs, chapel retreats and more! Reserve six or more cabins plus the Recreation Center and you can make your reservations one year in advance.
Our recreation building has a full kitchen, large front porch, bathroom facilities, tables and chairs. Overall 3,500 square feet to accommodate your special event.
All prices listed are daily. Note: weekend rates during off-season are the same as in-season rates.
